
The Executive Housekeepers Association of the Philippines and Hotel & Spa Essentials recently invited Engr. Romeo Apolega as guest speaker on “The Science of Linens”.
He highlighted the many challenges hotels are facing when it comes to linen care and management, including smells, late deliveries of laundry service providers, damages, mildew, stains, yellowing, and greying.
Engr. Apolega emphasized that linen care and linen management involve three parties: the hotel’s customers (guests), the hotel’s housekeeping team, and the laundry service provider. Each of these parties contributes to the damages and abuses caused to linen. With proper orientation, systems, and procedures, common complaints can be avoided.
A professional in the commercial laundry industry since 1973, Engr. Apolega highlighted several case studies and practical recommendations he collected in over 51 years of service in the sector.
