Is It Clean has officially launched the Philippines’ first-ever certification program on industrial laundry management, awarding the inaugural titles of Certified Industrial Laundry Manager to 17 pioneering participants. The certification was conferred after the completion of the Industrial Laundry Bootcamp, an intensive 18-hour workshop held over three sessions from July to August 2025.

Supported by MRP Textile Care Co., the Bootcamp brought together 7 distinguished industry leaders, including Joey Ermita of ELS Philippines, Jim Wark of AquaWarks, May Panganiban of MRP Textile Care Co., and Ramil Portinto of Global Comfort Group Corp. Participants hailed from Cebu, Pampanga, Cavite, and Manila, underscoring the nationwide interest in elevating industrial laundry standards.

The comprehensive program tackled the science of laundry, industrial laundry operations, and business development. It featured real-world case studies and live demonstrations, culminating in a capstone project where participants presented and defended their proposed solutions to operational and business challenges.

“We are absolutely delighted to introduce this pioneering program in the Philippines and become a platform for future leaders to hone their skills,” said Engr. Romeo Apolega, SSChE, FChE, President & CEO of Is It Clean. ““The Industrial Laundry Bootcamp is the MBA School of Laundry in the Philippines. We use actual cases from Luzon to Mindanao and encourage our participants to think creatively about plant design, operations, and business growth.”

Engr Apolega, known in the Philippines as the “Doctor of Laundry”, is a multi-awarded senior chemical engineer specializing in industrial laundry & sanitation. In 2024, he was one of 5 conferred by the Philippines’ Professional Regulations Commission with the “Service Award”, recognizing his 50 years of commitment as a chemical engineer in his sector.

The Certified Industrial Laundry Manager credential aims to build strong professional leadership and raise operational excellence across the country’s laundry sector, especially for those catering to hospitality, healthcare, and institutional clients.

Batch 2 of the Industrial Laundry Bootcamp will run from January to February 2026. Interested participants may email Paolo Abellanosa, Managing Director of Is It Clean, at paolo@isitcleanph.com for more details.
