Industrial Laundry Bootcamp

The Industrial Laundry Bootcamp is back on January 21-22 with its second edition (Cohort 2)!

The Industrial Laundry Bootcamp is an advanced professional workshop designed by Engr. Romeo Apolega, SSChE, FChE, Emeritus to train the next generation of industrial laundry operators in the Philippines. This is a two- to three-day training program held twice annually, with graduates receiving a “Certified Industrial Laundry Manager” certification at the end of the class.

What is the focus of the program?

The program’s objective is to enhance the operational know-how of the participant in running an industrial laundry facility. The class covers the following domains: 1) Science of cleaning; 2) Laundry plant design; 3) Total quality management in laundry operations; 4) Organizational behavior & leadership; 5) and business development.

Highlights of the program

The program is a mix of lectures and case study discussions, all culminating in a capstone project.

Who are eligible to join

We recommend this class to supervisors and managers of on-premise and outsourced laundry facilities and business owners. While everyone is welcome to join, the expectations for every attendee are higher than participants of our other workshops.

Romeo Apolega

President & CEO, Is It Clean

Called in the industry as the “Doctor of Laundry”, Romeo Apolega brings over 52 years of experience in the cleaning & sanitation sector in the Philippines. He is a multi-awarded chemical engineer who has scaled up brands such as Diversey, Oxychem, Powerclean, and Chemlux in the Philippines. In the early 2000s, he was the business development director of Kalinisan Steam Laundry, the largest in the country with over 150 tons of daily capacity. Most recently, he was the operations consultant of La Balina Steam Laundry, the laundry arm of AyalaLand Logistics Holdings Corp.

Joey Ermita

President & CEO, ELS Phils Inc

Joey Ermita has been in the laundry industry for more than 38 years. He founded ELS Phils. Inc., one of the most successful laundry equipment service providers in the Philippines, distributing brands such as LG Commercial Laundry and Electrolux Laundry Systems.

Rackie Estaniel

Rackie Estaniel is a senior laundry manager and operator with extensive experience in managing healthcare laundry facilities in both the Philippines and Qatar.

Rogelio Tapang

Founder, Laundrypreneur

Rogelio Tapang has been a laundry business consultant since 2018. He is the founder of Laundrypreneur and LaundrypreneurTV. He speaks regularly at live seminars nationwide and webinars on topics related to the laundry business. His most popular program is the MAY PERA SA LABADA program in partnership with ELS Philippines, Inc. Together with his wife, they owned and operated the Mr. Laba-Luvah Good Laundry Shop located in Cubao, Quezon City since 2015.

May Panganiban

Managing Director, MRP Textile Care Co

May Panganiban, along with her husband Rommel Panganiban, are behind the widely successful MRP Textile Care Co, a laundry equipment & solutions company based in Manila. MRP specializes in both laundry shop and on-premise institutional laundry setups.
