Bacolod needs more industrial laundry capacity as the city’s hotels increasingly outsource their linen care requirements, according to Is It Clean, organizer of the recently concluded Bacolod Laundry Show & Bootcamp at Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod on October 9–10.
Is It Clean is the Philippines’ leading industrial laundry consultant & training academy. Organized by Is It Clean in partnership with Executives Events Management Services, the Bacolod Laundry Show attracted more than 100 laundry professionals, entrepreneurs, operators, and industry attendees across two days. It brought practical training, sector insights, and supplier-led product showcases to a market where hospitality laundry is emerging as a significant source of new business opportunity.
Is It Clean estimates that the hotel industry in Negros Occidental needs to process approximately 14,300 kilos of linen every day, with an estimated 8,300 kilos generated in Bacolod alone. As more hotels choose to outsource laundry services rather than operate in-house facilities, the shift is creating growing demand for capable industrial laundry providers, professional operating systems, and reliable clean-linen supply.
“Bacolod has more than 4,000 hotels, with a significant increase in hotel rooms seen lately. Taking note of average occupancy, we estimate that more than 8 tons of linens need to be processed daily in the city,” said Paolo Abellanosa, Managing Director of Is It Clean.
He added: “Hotels are increasingly outsourcing laundry to service providers, and laundry players are now playing a more integral part in the experience of tourists and guests. Hospitals, industrial plants, aviation companies, and similar institutions are outsourcing their laundry now, too. While this presents a significant opportunity for entrepreneurs, we should make sure that laundry operators are delivering excellent outputs.”

The Bootcamp featured Engr. Romeo Apolega, SSChE, FPIChE — widely known as the Philippines’ Doctor of Laundry — an award-winning chemical engineer with 53 years of experience in the laundry sector. Apolega was recently recognized by the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers (PIChE) as an Outstanding Chemical Engineer of the Philippines 2026.
“We were delighted to bring The Laundry Masterclass to Bacolod and support the growing laundry industry in the city and Negros Occidental,” said Apolega, who is also the CEO of Is It Clean. “Laundry is not just a business; it is a science, and every owner and operator should be aware of the proper processes and systems to produce clean and safe laundry outputs.”
The program was opened by Atty. Juliana Carbon, President of the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Other key speakers included David Kidney of Lapauw and Mia Aujero of the Department of Trade & Industry, who shared perspectives relevant to the development of the local laundry sector.
The Bacolod Laundry Show also featured leading industry suppliers, including Gia’s Laundry, showcasing Haier commercial laundry equipment; Vertex Laundry Solutions, showcasing Huebsch commercial laundry equipment; and Charlie’s Soap.
The Bacolod event marked Is It Clean’s 51st masterclass edition since 2024 and its 20th city visit, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to building professional capability across the Philippine laundry industry.
With hotel outsourcing driving more demand for linen processing, Is It Clean said Bacolod and Negros Occidental are well positioned for laundry operators and investors who can deliver scalable, quality-controlled, and safe commercial-laundry services.
